Big Problems, Small God
When our view of our problems is bigger than our view of God, we’ve got a problem. It’s not a problem of proportion, but the problem of priority. What we cannot do, God can, and if we can’t do anything about it, we can only pray to God about it, but if it seems too big for us to solve, we forget, nothing’s too hard for God. We may not have a big enough view of our omnipotent (all-powerful) God.
Big God, Small Problems
When you are a regular reader of the Bible, I think your view of God gets bigger. The more you see God’s power displayed in Scripture, the bigger God becomes to you. The bigger your view of God is, the smaller your problems become. It’s all a matter of perspective. A big God should overshadow every problem, big or small, and believe me, He is a big God!
The Sun and the Moon
When we see the full glory of God for the very first time, His Shekinah glory will be so bright that there will be no need to have the sun or moon for light. The Apostle John writes, “And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb” (Rev 22:23), and it is by this “light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it” (Rev 22:24). The closer you get to God is the more of the glory you will see, but what a day that will be.
Conclusion
If you are seeking to grow closer to God, you can turn to Scripture and see what God’s will is for your life. We know God desires that we grow in holiness, that we share the gospel, that we serve one another, and that we love each other so that others will know we are His disciples. Besides, God is already in you with the Holy Spirit, and that is as close as you can get.
