A Tiny Sparrow
After God had created the heavens and the earth but also all of the creatures on the earth, it says, “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day” (Gen 1:31), so we know that God loves His creatures because He created them, and He ensures that “Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God” (Psalm 84:3), so even a tiny sparrow will not “fall to the ground apart from your Father” and His will (Matt 10:29).
The Hairs on your Head
God cares for us more than we might even know because, as Matthew wrote, “even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Matt 10:30-31). Just think about the intimate and finite details that God knows about us and even the number of hairs on our head is counted (and for me, it’s getting easier to count). Talk about a memory; “He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names” (Psalm 147:4), so don’t think He misses anything in your life.
The least of These
In general, most of the world couldn’t care less about those who are insignificant in the eyes of the world, but those are the very ones who God is concerned about. When we minister to others, we minister to them regardless of their social status or economic standing. Nothing will be missed by God as Jesus said that whoever cares for the least of these brothers and sisters cares for Him. Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Matt 25:40).
Conclusion
It’s certainly true that no detail of your life is too insignificant for your heavenly Father’s attention and this includes every single detail about you; and even the hair on your head is numbered, and the least of those in the world whom we serve, we actually are serving Christ.
