Five Reasons Why Giving to God Produces Riches on Many Levels
The whole philosophy behind returning a tithe is that it is done in appreciation of the fact that God is the source of all your blessings. In fact, in Deuteronomy, God clearly states that he has given you the means and the power to get wealth. Whatever you have, whatever you achieve, whatever you gather, whatever you have built came ultimately from the source of all blessings in the universe which is God.
Here are the five reasons why giving to God produces riches.
Reason 1: God said to prove him
God said in the book of Malachi to prove him with the tithe. When you tithe not only will God give you back the amount that you tithe, but God will also give you back so much that you have no place to store it. Talk about a massive return on investment!
Of course, we shouldn’t look at the tithe as an investment or quid pro quo arrangement. We should look at it as a sign of our love for Jesus and how much we trust him enough to put him first. Regardless, God is definitely no slacker when it comes to repaying a good deed.
Reason 2: You are pushed to produce more
When you tithe, you develop a sense of inner peace that puts things in perspective. By trusting God enough to put him and others first, you develop a strength of character that enable you to save, invest, and plan out your financial life properly. This discipline leads to even more bounties in the future.
Reason 3: Giving is an act of faith
It’s very easy to think that we really have nothing to tithe because the rent is due or because we could barely put food on the table. These are precisely the times that require that you tithe and give offerings to God. Why? These are opportunities for faith.
Just like a muscle, the more you exercise faith, the more it grows. The stronger your faith becomes, the more blessings flow into your life because blessings are claimed through faith.
Reason 4: Giving strengthens your character
In many cases, the way we define a strong character is to take from others. Well, the real measure of strength is how much you give. In fact, when you die, people will remember you not based on how much you took from others but how much you gave to others.
When you give to both your church, to charities, and back to God in the form of a tithe, you are strengthening your character. You are strengthening part of your character that’s able to put others first and to sacrifice.
Reason 5: You are given an opportunity to place God first
When you give, you are given an opportunity to give, you are given an opportunity to put God first. We are being tested constantly by God regarding what our priorities are. Do we live our lives based on ourselves and our selfish needs, or do we aim to live for something higher and something more noble and worthwhile?
And I’m glad to inform you friends, that the highest and most noble thing to live for is the ultimate reason: God himself. This is why when the collection plate passes at Church that is the opportunity to place God first. Are you ready to put God first in every single aspect of your life?
